Human Resources Information System (HRIS) Consulting & Implementation

At Exude Human Capital, our consultants are technology agnostic, which provides the ability to plug into a variety of systems. We provide support with vendor selection, implementation, or optimization to connect people to the process and the technology.

Why Hire Externally for HRIS Consulting?

Hiring a consultant for HRIS support can ensure you are evaluating, designing, implementing, integrating, and maintaining your data and processes in the most efficient way to maximize value while best supporting your team and employees.

Some of the biggest benefits can be:

  • Objectivity – While we have a lot of contacts and knowledge in this space, we are vendor agnostic, so we aren’t trying to push you into a specific platform. We truly look at what’s best for you with an objective view.
  • Expertise – We have been in this industry for a long time and have worked on a variety of systems, so we have a lot of knowledge of what their pros and cons are. We come to the table with best practices of what has worked well and where we’ve seen challenges. Having this experience allows us to bring efficiency to this project, so you don’t have to lose valuable time.
  • Capacity – Selections, implementations, and optimizations can be really time-consuming. It can be challenging for you to have the bandwidth on your team to allow for the time and dedication it takes while doing the day-to-day work. We can help enhance your capacity so you and your team can continue to focus on your main roles without jeopardizing your HRIS project.
  • Change Management – This is often an overlooked key component of any system change or implementation. There is a communication strategy needed for maximum adoption by the employees. Our experts can help you navigate the best ways to communicate the changes in terms of messaging, audience, and timing.
  • Avoiding Decision Fatigue – Most implementation teams focus on getting into a production environment, but ongoing system adoption requires a focus on the end-user experience. Our consultants front-load most of the data, workflow, and mapping decisions ahead of the vendor timeline, so our collaborative team can build out all the bells and whistles ahead of go-live and avoid the “Phase 2” compromise.

Exude’s HRIS Consulting Services

Vendor Selection

We know that no two organizations are the same, which is why we focus first on understanding your specific culture and business requirements before matching with systems. We are technology-agnostic and focus on identifying the system(s) that best meet your needs rather than fitting you into a specific platform. Our levels of support include:

  • Advisory – Our consultants lead you through your process.
  • Managed – Our consultants are hands-on project managing.

Implementation or Optimization

Our goal is to optimize functionality within your HRIS system so you can maximize its capabilities to drive business results and enhance the employee experience. Whether this is a new system implementation or an opportunity for optimization, we believe in getting it right the first time. Our levels of support include:

  • Advisory – Our consultants lead you through your process.
  • Managed – Our consultants are hands-on project managing.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much time and involvement will we need to put in ourselves?
Our consultants guide our clients through a series of discovery, mapping, and decision-based exercises to prepare for the configuration questions the vendor will ask. This planning process allows clients to be proactive in cleaning up data and focusing on learning the new system, while Exude focuses on addressing the nuances that drive the connectivity between data and processes.

What’s the process?
Our consultants know that one of the largest influences in maximizing the capability of an HRIS system is the end-user experience, and yet it is often the last piece to be implemented and rarely done well as a result. Our team front-loads all of the data management and workflow decisions in the early days of implementation to stay ahead of the vendor timeline. This provides an opportunity to focus on building out the employee and manager experience at each phase of the implementation to optimize adoption and long-term success.

Can you help with training?
Yes! While we work to support and ensure that all our client administrators take the required vendor training to prepare them to independently manage their own systems after go-live, we can support employee and manager training through live and recorded walkthroughs of your processes in your systems for launch and ongoing learning.

Can you help with the communications?
We support our clients in drafting a communication strategy to provide context for what to expect leading up to go-live in a new implementation. We also support our clients in executing their own communication strategy to encourage (or reward!) employee and manager engagement and adoption of the new system and processes.

What types of companies will Exude support?

We have experience in designing and implementing performance management programs with for-profit, non-profit, and government contractor clients in most industries, including but not limited to professional services, social services, education, bio/pharma, technology, healthcare, communications, manufacturing, associations, finance, and engineering.

Do we need a technology platform already identified?

If you have a technology platform in place, our consultants can help you configure, optimize, and/or redeploy it. If you don’t have a technology platform and are interested in one, our vendor-agnostic system experts can help you identify the right platform that can support your processes and budget.

What Our Clients Are Saying:

“I want to thank you for your guidance, wisdom, and support throughout this discovery, selection, and contracting process. And I am so happy you will be with us throughout implementation.”

“First, let me say how grateful I am that so many things are being revealed in our meetings. On the one hand, it feels a little embarrassing, but if we don’t look and learn, we won’t make the necessary changes. So thank you for what you are processing with us.”
