SITUATION:
A large organization, which has experienced rapid growth through acquisitions, engaged Exude Human Capital to evaluate its HR function. The primary goal was to provide expert recommendations for developing a shared services model. The organization sought to determine the most effective structure to support key centralized HR functions while also identifying areas that might need to remain decentralized at the site level.
SOLUTION:
Our consultant conducted a proprietary Organizational Assessment, which included one-on-one interviews with leaders from several acquired entities, key department heads, and the existing HR team. They thoroughly reviewed the entire employee lifecycle through the lens of compliance and best practices, focusing on critical areas such as:
- HR Data Administration and Infrastructure
- Policies
- Compensation & Payroll
- Benefits & Leave Administration
- Talent Management (Performance & Development)
- Employee Relations
This process, which spanned approximately 45 to 60 days, culminated in a detailed report that provided recommendations for centralizing HR functions. Additionally, the report presented two potential HR Shared Service Models for the client’s consideration. Following this, Exude Human Capital facilitated a planning session with the client to refine the models and develop a strategy for presenting them to stakeholders. As a final deliverable, we created a three-year project plan to guide the organization in developing and implementing the HR Shared Service Model.
RESULTS:
The client now has a well-defined HR Shared Service Model and a project plan that clearly defines roles, responsibilities, and services across all client entities. This framework will also assist in determining the budget and pricing structure for the HR Shared Service Model.
