SITUATION:
A nonprofit organization serving young children and families was looking to strengthen its performance management process across a workforce of more than 300 employees. With approximately 40 different jobs and a large population of teachers, the organization needed a performance approach that could work across very different roles while still measuring meaningful results.
Leadership wanted to move beyond traditional performance reviews and create a more consistent, measurable process that connected individual performance to organizational goals.
SOLUTION:
Exude Human Capital completed a comprehensive performance management overhaul, redesigning the process and evaluating existing job families to identify opportunities for better alignment.
We developed quantifiable performance metrics and goal-setting approaches, aligned the performance process with the organization’s compensation structure, and designed recommendations for a bonus and pay-for-performance structure. Exude also supported calibration and talent reviews to help create greater consistency in how performance was evaluated across the organization.
To support successful implementation, we developed a communication strategy and provided manager training to help leaders confidently use the new process and have more meaningful performance conversations with their teams.
RESULTS:
The organization was extremely pleased with the work, recognizing Exude as a strong communicator, thoughtful planner, and true partner throughout the engagement.
The success of the performance management project led to an additional compensation engagement and an ongoing advisory relationship. Exude continues to support the organization today, building on the foundation established through the initial work.
