SITUATION:
An education technology company with over 1,000 employees faced a critical challenge when their Benefits Director had to go on leave just as open enrollment was beginning. With limited time and resources, the organization needed experienced interim leadership to manage open enrollment, maintain compliance, and ensure employees had uninterrupted access to benefits.
SOLUTION:
Exude Human Capital provided an Outsourced Interim Director of Benefits, offering 30 hours per week of hands-on support. Our consultant quickly partnered with the company’s broker to review renewal options, identify cost-saving opportunities, and maintain the quality of the benefits package. We managed the entire open enrollment process, including setting up their Workday system, coordinating employee communications, overseeing vendor management, securing 401(k) enrollments and deductions, and handling leave of absence administration. In addition, we provided strategic thought partnership on enhancing the overall total rewards offering. After enrollment, we stayed on to support the returning Benefits Director with knowledge transfer and a seamless transition.
RESULTS:
The organization experienced a smooth, well-managed open enrollment with minimal disruption to employees. Leadership gained confidence in the benefits function, employees received timely and accurate information, and deductions and enrollments were executed without error. The transition back to the incumbent Benefits Director was seamless, supported by Exude’s knowledge transfer and continued advisory support.
