SITUATION:
A higher education institution was navigating heightened employee sensitivity and concerns related to communication, trust, accountability, and workplace relationships. Employees had questions about internal processes and how concerns were handled, creating uncertainty and assumptions when information was limited.
Leadership recognized that addressing an individual workplace concern was only part of the solution. The organization also needed to strengthen the broader culture and give employees practical tools for communicating, raising concerns, and navigating workplace challenges constructively.
SOLUTION:
Exude Human Capital developed and facilitated a customized Trust the Process training experience focused on strengthening organizational trust, communication, and culture.
Rather than focusing on any individual situation, the training explored the organizational practices that build trust, including clear communication, appropriate boundaries, accountability, respectful dialogue, psychological safety, and confidentiality. Participants worked through practical scenarios and facilitated discussions focused on how assumptions and incomplete information can affect workplace relationships.
The session also clarified the respective roles and responsibilities of employees, supervisors, HR, and organizational leadership, while providing employees with practical approaches for raising concerns and navigating challenging situations.
RESULTS:
The engagement gave employees a structured opportunity to address broader workplace themes without reopening or relitigating individual matters. It helped shift the conversation from “What happened?” to “How do we work together moving forward?”
Employees gained clearer expectations for communication, accountability, and raising concerns, while leadership had an opportunity to reinforce organizational processes and expectations.
