SITUATION:
A nonprofit science educational organization was looking for a partner to conduct a comprehensive compensation study. Having worked with another firm on a compensation study several years earlier, the organization wanted a fresh perspective and a more actionable approach to understanding its competitive position.
With an active and engaged Board involved in the process, leadership needed recommendations that were not only grounded in market data, but also clear, well-supported, and defensible.
SOLUTION:
Exude Human Capital provided market data and analysis, helped refine the organization’s compensation philosophy, and updated its salary structure to better align with the market and the organization’s needs.
We worked closely with the leadership team throughout the process, helping them understand the data, evaluate recommendations, and prepare for questions from an actively involved Board. Exude also presented the findings and recommendations to the Board, providing the context and rationale behind the proposed changes.
RESULTS:
The CEO and leadership team provided highly positive feedback, noting that the work surpassed anything the organization had experienced in its previous compensation study.
The project gave leadership a stronger compensation philosophy, updated salary structure, and greater confidence in making and communicating pay decisions. By partnering closely with leadership throughout the process, Exude helped ensure recommendations were both well-informed and defensible, even with an actively engaged Board.
